According to representatives of the medical facility where veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty is receiving treatment, he complained of severe chest pain and was admitted to a private hospital here on Saturday.
According to him, the 73-year-old actor had an MRI, and more tests are presently being carried out.
“Chakraborty is being evaluated medically after being admitted this morning. Later on, we will have more information to share,” the hospital representative stated.
Around 10.30 am, the actor-turned-BJP leader was taken to the hospital. “We are awaiting the results of the MRI. According to a hospital physician who spoke to PTI, he is currently being monitored by a neuromedicine specialist in the intensive care unit.
A formal statement from the actor’s family has not yet been released. Additionally, reports of his hospitalisation have not been verified by Apollo Hospital.
Over the course of his decades-long career, Mithun Chakraborty has starred in over 350 films. This January, he received the Padma Bhushan award. The actor’s most recent appearance was in the December 2023 release of the Bengali film “Kabuliwala.”
